I launched the game, and there was another error relating the mscorwks.dll file, I downloaded it and placed it on the Microsoft. NET\ Framework\v 9 folder. I launched the game again, and the Steam box appeared: Performing First Time Setup: Installing: Setup UBOXAssociation.exe (step 1 of 1) Then, after a while, there was another error: Fatal Error: Failed to delay load library mscorlib.dll I downloaded that file and placed it on my System32 folder. Then when I'm going to launch the game, that same Steam box appears, and after 10 seconds, Steam recognizes that I'm playing a game, but the game hasn't launched, and I got no error messages, then 5 seconds later, there's a Message from Windows saying that Universe Sandbox stopped working. Please help me! I haven't bought the game with only intention of completing the achievement, but I do want to complete it.
That debugger window displays the file version of the DLL. Embedded as an unmanaged resource in the DLL, the VERSION resource, every properly built executable file has one. For a. NET assembly it is generated from the [ Assembly File Version ] attribute by the assembly linker. The file version changes for every revision of the DLL. It serves only a documentary role, it is not used at runtime. Compare to the. NET File Version Info. File Version property. Note how it is a string and not a number. Distinct from the [ Assembly Version ] attribute, the Really Important One that the CLR uses to determine of an assembly is compatible. It is for all mscorlib.dll versions in the 4.x frameworks. It was for. NET versions 2.0 through 3.5 SP1. You can't see it in that dialog. Not with Explorer either when you look at the Details tab, a very awkward problem. NETFXREL2 STAGE was the build machine in Redmond that created the file. No real idea why Microsoft thinks it is useful to include that info.
