I recommend this game with the Xtended mod to anyone who likes strategic space games on in depth trading games. This game is simply sublime with the Xtended mod and Race Fleet response mod and other goodies if you want. It's hard to get into unless you want to speed things up by downloading a script to increase your starting resources, but it's totally worth it. I've spent hours on it turning 1000 credits into 70 million credits (just to give you an idea of how much 1000 credits is worth, it will by a few basic goods, and to make your first million you'll need to do a LOT of missions until you can afford a trading ship that you can automate), just bought myself my first capital ship an Argon Cerberus frigate (36 million credits). This game has flaws and at times it really irritates you but other times you are blown away for example the first time I dropped into the system Rolk's Fate with my new frigate, above this beautifull blue world to a kick * soundtrack. It's so satisfying having gone from 1000 credits and a tiny scout ship, to blasting away alien scum with a small fleet of 1 Frigate, 10 heavy Fighters and a dozen support trading ships and a small factory complex to fund my megalomaniac campaign to dominate the galaxy. My goal now is to build a vast complex of self sufficient factories and mines, and do a mission to get a reward which is a Player HQ that allows me to build ships. I'll link them all up then I'll be able to churn out warships! We are only seeking Man. We have no need of other worlds. We need mirrors. We don't know what to do with other worlds. A single world, our own, suffices us; but we can't accept it for what it is. We are seaching for an ideal image of our own world - Solaris Hehe Glad u like it, my best bud helped do some 3d modeling and alot of cutscene work on the original X3. Even though he helped make it he only really rated it after.
I'm surprised that there isn't any mention of this here. Its the best mod for the X games. It was so good that Egosoft asked the mod developers to go and work for them with Terran Conflict. X3 TC+ XTM > X3+ XTM > X3 TC > X3 That is the order of greatness in the X world, X3 TC with Xtended mod would be the best, but the mod is still unreleased. So X3 XTM is the best you can play, it is far better than vanilla X3: Terran Conflict X- Tended Mod is a modification for the game X3: Reunion by Egosoft. XTM has a unique approach to modding X3: Reunion, we always try to extend the X3 universe and game style while trying not to upset the careful balance that Egosoft created in the original game. As such, a general rule we try to follow is not to change any of the ES stock game assets, but try to add to them, expanding the game into a fuller experience for the player. In the X3 Universe, the 5 main races are at war with an alien race called the Kha'ak, they are also fighting an ongoing battle with a race of AI controlled machines called the Xenon. On top of this there are all the petty little skirmishes between the races themselves, and space pirates also have to be dealt with (unless you want to be a pirate of course, then it's the main races that have to be dealt with). Each race in the X- Universe is constantly at war with someone, and in XTM we try to reflect this by making the X- Universe a more dangerous place to live, but we offset this by allowing the player to own more powerful ships ( Although they are all carefully balanced not to be super-ships and ships that have specialised functions. Currently a few of the ships we have added are: A full M7 class. These ships are the equivalent of a frigate class, bigger and heavier that Corvettes but smaller and not as well armed as a full Destroyer or Carrier class ship. They fill the huge power.
